Paula North has a B.A.from Jackson College (Tufts University) and also studied at the Boston Museum School, The Académie de la Grande Chaumière, and the Art Students League, where she won a George Grosz Memorial Scholarship.

 

Her exhibitions of paintings include “Five Realists,” Hirschl & Adler Gallery (NY); "Painted Light," Queens Museum/Artists' Choice Museums Traveling Exhibition; "Summertime," Droll/Kollbert Gallery (NY); "Important Small Works," Elaine Benson Gallery (Bridgehampton, NY); "Poets/Painters Collaborations," Brooke Alexander Editions (NY); Haber/Theodore Gallery (NY); "The Art Show," Riverstone Arts (Haverstraw, NY); and most recently "A Two-Gallery Teacup Show," Turtle Point Press Gallery (NY).

 

In addition to paintings, she has done book and magazine cover illustrations and graphics for various presses, among them Kulchur Press, Ms. Magazine, Sun Press, The Figures, Telephone Press, Hanging Loose Press, Swollen Magpie Press, Symmetry Press, H_NGM_N BKS, The Song Cave, and The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery.
